Firstly, a 4-1 vicyory, and then a closer score in the second (3-2) ; particularly special due to us being 2-1 down. Well done Luckwell. Thanks to family and friends for helping with transport and thanks to Seamills for hosting.
Go Lionesses (28/4/16) - what a super first performance in the girls' tournament at Merchants'. The girls played five, won two, drew two and lost one - only conceding one gial - absolutely fantastic. Our cross country runners competed in the regional finals at Ashton Park this morning. Rudy finished 9th overall - he was the first to finish from thr Bristol South team. Evee and Hattie finished 28th and 29th respectively. Very proud of their efforts.

Huge thank you to all the children, our teachers for their hard work when practising the dances, plus thanks to Sophie and Rachel from Funk It Up Dance and finally to our Dance Leaders who run a Golden Time Club; their members performed a dance today. See photo below of Molly (Y6) and Izzy (Y6) modelling their dance from the side - true leadership. Have anawesome holiday folks.

Thank you (23/3/16) - The school would like to say a huge thank you to Sam (Shelby's mum) for all our amazing netball coaching. The girls learned a lot and competed brilliantly at Ashton Park in the league matches. We hope to see you back in the summer term!
Legendary (18/3/16) - What an amazing couple of weeks we have had! Every child at Luckwell has cycled, scooted or ran at least a mile, and hopefully a high proportion have managed to complete their swimming leg of the Sport Relief Triathlon. This culminated today with our Circuit Challenge; the pupils represented their houses and competed in four events (speed bounce/ball push/shuttle run/step up). I have to say a massive thank you to our sports leaders - Shelby, Elif and Rudy - for leading the day's events. Thank you to the rest of Year 6, who collated the scores and counted each pupil completing their events. Cajsa and Domi, our data analysts, did a super job, using Excel and formulae to calculate the best house. The results will be annunced in Monday's assembly. Thanks to all our family and friends for their support over the past two weeks,.
Swimming @ Easton (11/3/16) - A fantastic afternoon at Easton Leisure Centre. The team of Year 5 and 6 pupils represented Luckwell in the Bristol Primary School Championship. I was beaming with pride at the effort, enthusiasm and behaviour from our pupils. Out of 25 events, we had a massive total of 12 victories and 7 runners up positions in the races. Two particular highlights were the two relay wins (4 x 25m + 4 x 25m Medley). Well done to the girls' team - Domi/Izzy/Cajsa/Evee/Megan/Hattie, and the boys' team - Rudy/Ethan/Oliver/Finn/Joe. A huge thank you goes to the family and friends, who helped with transport and stayed to cheer on the squad..
Triathlon - Running Leg (11/3/16) - See below for the timetable of our Magic Mile(s). Hopefully the weather will shine bright on part two of our Luckwell Triathlon for Sport Relief. Family and friends come along and cheer on.
Triathlon Leg 1 (Bike/Scooter) <10/3/16> - What an awesome turnout for The Luckwell Triathlon in aid of Sport Relief 2016. The pupils of Luckwell have travelled approximately 350 miles today - WOW - absolutely fantastic. Well done to our Active Travel Ambassadors - Domi/Cajsa/Pierre/Austen - you were amazing today. Thanks to Joe Bigwood for his support, and for the bunting and prizes. Next week = RUN!
More infor below about Thursday's cycle/scoot leg. Parents are very welcome to come along to the hard court and cheer on the triathletes.
Ethan in my class (Year 6) asked a super question today - 'Can we go swimming elsewhere, or cycle in our own time to complete even MORE miles on our progress cards' - the answer is of course yes. You have just over TWO weeks to complete your triathlon. The more you swim, cycle and run the better. Sponsor forms and letters went out today. Don't forget, Max and the wonderful staff at Bristol South Swimming Pool are giving our Luckwell pupils ONE free swim. Furthermore, on Thursday, we will complete a cycle and scoot leg over on the hard court. Finally, we will run a MAGIC MILE during the week beginning 14th March.
Awesome Netballing (16/2/16) - Brilliant performance from the Year 5 and 6 girls tonight at Ashton Park. Two Wins + Two Defeats. The girls did the double over Ashton Gate with two victories - well done in the cold, wintry weather.

100% Effort (20/1/16) - fantastic performance from our Year 5 football team. They fought gallantly in our games. Playing mostly against Year 6 players, they gave everything on this cold and windy night at Merchants Academy. Same time next week!
Well Done (14/1/16) - what an amazing performance by the boys and girls who represented Luckwell at athletics. In the team event, we finished 7th overall. However, in the boys' 4 x 1 relay, we were victorious - the fastest indoor sprinters in Bristol. The girls' relay team finished second - another awesome performance.
